After a short wait outside the terminal at the airport a hotel shuttle arrived and took us to the Hampton Inn ATL. After a short ride we arrived, took our bags, and entered the hotel. Weiterlesen
After checking out of the Super 8 and returning our rental car to Hertz we took a complimentary bus ride to the airport and were dropped off right in front of terminal 5 where Delta operates out of. We checked in at one of the airport kiosks where I also paid our bag fees (on domestic flights only our first checked bag is free, the second checked bag costs $25). The we dropped off our bags and proceeded to the security checkpoint. Weiterlesen
After dining at a Sizzler near LAX and filling up our rental car’s gas tank we headed to the Super 8 LAX on Airport Blvd almost right next to Hertz where I had booked a room for one night before our flight to Atlanta. Weiterlesen
When we arrived in Bakersfield we first stopped at the Black Angus restaurant to have some nice dinner which was fabulous as usual. We both had some great tasting steaks.
Then we steered towards the Sleep Inn & Suites where I had booked a room for one night. Upon entering the hotel the front desk is found on the right side. We were quickly checked in and were assigned room 208. Weiterlesen
After a day in San Francisco and dinner with our friend at a place he had suggested we drove to our next hotel, the Clarion Hotel in Concord. I had booked us a room for three nights at a pretty good rate of around $50 per night. I thought the appearance of the hotel was quite impressive considered what we paid for our stay. Weiterlesen
During our stays at the Sheraton Pleasanton and the Clarion Hotel in Concord (more on that in a later installment of this trip report) we took a few BART rides into San Francisco to explore different parts of the city. While we stayed at the Sheraton we could easily walk to the nearest BART station. From the Clarion it was a short drive to the nearest BART station.
When going into San Francisco we usually exit at Powell St Station and so we did it each time during this trip. There is the Westfield City Centre mall, the turntable of the Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason cable car lines, as well as a vending booth of San Francisco’s MTA. Weiterlesen
After our stay at the Westin Verasa Napa we moved on to Pleasanton where we first did some shopping at the Stoneridge Mall before we checked in at the nearby Sheraton hotel. We had booked a two-night stay there and were happy to have a hotel so close to the nearest BART station. Weiterlesen
After our first wonderful night at the beautiful Westin Verasa Napa (I love sleeping in a Westin Heavenly Bed) we headed over the Wine Train Station and checked in for our Ambassador Tour that we had booked from home. We received our tickets and stickers that we were supposed to put on our jackets or whatever. Weiterlesen
After checking out of the Comfort Inn Cordelia, having breakfast at the nearby Denny’s, and some shopping at the Napa Premium Outlets and a Wal-Mart we headed to the Westin Verasa Napa.
When arriving at the hotel we were greeted by bellmen and the valet parking crew. They helped us getting our luggage out of the trunk and then we headed inside where we were friendly welcomed at the check-in desk to the right. I must say that all the staff we met were very friendly. Each time we entered the hotel we were welcomed with a smile. Weiterlesen
After checking out of the Red Roof Inn in Fresno and having breakfast we drove to Fairfield to check in at the Comfort Inn Cordelia. Weiterlesen
